> back to list of achievements Charity Hospital (Oulan-Bator, Republic of Mongolia) – (April 2003) This medical center (the only one that is completely free-of-charge in Mongolia) opened in 1999 thanks to the determination of three French nuns. The buildings were made available by the local government and the salaries of the Mongol personnel are paid by the city of Oulan-Bator. The operational budget depends entirely on donations. The hospital has a free health center for every-day consulting appointments and out-patient treatment and has 55 beds principally for people suffering from tuberculosis or burning. CNB undertook the renovation of the radiological equipment because the previous one was no longer up to standard. A new machine sent from China by GE Medical Systems was installed free-of-charge in April. .
